Gonzalo Plata left out of Flamengo trip to Corinthians

Flamengo visit Corinthians on Sunday at Neo Química Arena in round eight of the Campeonato Brasileiro, but will be without forward Gonzalo Plata, who did not travel to São Paulo.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Ecuador international was omitted for technical reasons and will remain in Rio to continue working while the squad are away.

Plata has faced criticism from Flamengo supporters this season over his performances. His conduct away from the pitch has also been questioned in 2026.

The 25-year-old has scored one goal and registered no assists so far, featuring in 11 matches for the club.

Kick-off is at 20:30 Brasília time, with three points at stake in the Brasileiro.
