FC Bayern are setting the course for the time after Leon Goretzka – and apparently already have a solution ready internally for the central midfield
According to information from Transfermarkt.de, the Munich club are planning to sign Noel Aseko, who is currently on loan at Hannover 96 and is one of the most eye-catching midfielders in Bundesliga 2
The 20-year-old has not only impressed with his consistency at Hannover, but also with his productivity. Aseko scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season in the recent 3-1 home win against Holstein Kiel. Overall, he is one of the most valuable players in the league and it is hard to imagine coach Christian Titz’s starting XI without him. Interest is correspondingly high – but from Bayern’s point of view, the direction is clear
As reported by Transfermarkt.de, Munich have already received two concrete offers for Aseko this winter, which sporting director Christoph Freund rejected. In addition to a Bundesliga club, Galatasaray Istanbul had also made an official enquiry, according to the report. Other clubs have since positioned themselves, but at FC Bayern the midfield all-rounder is seen as an integral part of their future plans
Although Hannover 96 have a purchase option worth around one million euros, FC Bayern can override this via a contractually fixed buy-back clause for 2.4 million euros. This is exactly what the Munich club want to make use of in the summer. From Bayern’s point of view, staying in Hannover beyond the current season is currently out of the question
The background: Leon Goretzka’s departure, which has already been decided, has opened a door in central midfield. Aseko should be given this opportunity. The record champions are convinced that they can offer the versatile youngster a realistic prospect of playing time from the summer. This is another reason why an external transfer, such as Hertha’s top talent Kennet Eichhorn, no longer seems to be an issue for the time being
Internally, Aseko is held in high regard. His style of play, which is repeatedly compared to that of N’Golo Kanté, fits the profile: strong in running, strong in tackles, tactically flexible and now also with offensive output. For Bayern, he is no longer just a prospect, but a player who is trusted to take the next step
It’s no secret that Hannover would like to keep the top performer, with managing director Jörg Schmadtke recently stating only: „There is hope.“ He deliberately did not get any more specific than that. However, according to Transfermarkt information, thoughts of extending the loan are currently not an issue in Munich

At the same time, international interest is growing. Clubs such as Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United have already enquired about Aseko, as have several Bundesliga clubs and FC Villarreal. If the midfielder does move permanently in the summer, a transfer fee in the double-digit million euro range would be realistic. In the past year alone, his market value has risen from 900,000 euros to six million euros
For FC Bayern, this is currently of secondary importance. The focus is clearly on his sporting development – and on his return to Säbener Straße. Aseko is not to be sold in the summer, but rather integrated. There are many indications that Munich want to absorb Goretzka’s departure internally – with a player from their own ranks.
