MIAMI – The FIFA Women's Champions Cup 2026 will crown its first champion in its inaugural edition, and reigning Concacaf W Champions Cup winners Gotham FC will be one of the sides seeking to claim that historic honor.

The NWSL side became the first ever Concacaf W Champions Cup winners by winning the 2024/25 edition.

Gotham FC began its first WCC campaign with an unbeaten run in the Group Stage, qualifying to the Final Four as second place in Group B with a 2-2-0 record. Its campaign began with a 4-nil win at LD Alajuelense, followed by a nil-nil draw against CF Monterrey Femenil, a 13-nil win at Frazsiers Whip, and a 4-4 draw with Tigres UANL Femenil.

In the WCC Semifinals at Estadio Universitario in San Nicolás de los Garza, Mexico, The Bats topped Club América Femenil, 3-1, with goals from Brazilian international Geyse, U.S. star Midge Purce, and an own goal.

The U.S. side defeated Liga MX Femenil club Tigres UANL, 1-nil, in the Final. A single goal by Esther González from the penalty spot secured the first title for Gotham, along with a berth in the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s Club World Cup 2028
