Graham Potter insists he has “no reason” to think he has lost the backing of the West Ham board after another defeat.
The Hammers were beaten 2-1 at home by Crystal Palace, their fourth loss in the first five Premier League games of the new campaign.
It has thrown even more pressure on the West Ham boss but asked if he still has the backing of those above him, he replied: “I have no reason to think not, but I also understand the environment, I also understand the results.
“But I have no complaints at all with the support that we’ve had and the support from the supporters, from everybody at the club really.
“I think everyone’s finding it tough because that’s reality. It’s not an easy situation.
“There’s no point getting away from that, but then the opportunity is to work through it, to find the answer, to find the solution, and then be stronger for the experience.”
Jarrod Bowen had equalised following Jean-Philippe Mateta’s owner, but Tyrick Mitchell struck in the 68th minute to secure the win for Oliver Glasner’s side.
“It’s this level and at the moment it’s not enough, and we have to face up to that,” Potter said on the defeat.
“We have to find a solution to it. We have to be more stable defensively and offensively and find more ways to look stronger as a team. That’s where the work is now.
“You have to face these moments up when it’s tough, and it is tough at the moment. I said to the players, ‘we have to stick together, work hard, keep on working on finding the solution and come out of this tough period stronger for it’. That’s the aim now.”
