Julian Brandt is still weighing his next move and Leeds United’s pursuit is a wait-and-watch, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.

Leeds’ interest emerged last month. The 30-year-old is now a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund, with talks understood to be under way and competition expected from clubs in Europe.

Real Betis were among the mooted suitors, after Brandt’s father was seen at their training base. The Spanish side can offer Champions League football but are not currently pressing ahead, while the Germany international continues to assess his options.

Leeds will hope the pull of Premier League football helps their case. Brandt has extensive European and international experience but has never played in England.

There are, however, potential questions about whether his physical profile suits the Premier League and the demands of 90-minute outings. Leeds leaned heavily on intensity last season to stay up and succeed, so additions are expected to match that level.

On the ball, his flair and creativity could make him an attractive option if talks progress.
