After another great performance on the Tuzos' home turf, Guadalajara earned a well-deserved victory that puts them very close to securing a direct ticket to the Final Phase of the 2025 Apertura. Gabriel Milito knows how positive his team's end to the tournament has been, so he was happy with what they achieved in Matchday 16 and also revealed that they are already thinking about Monterrey, their last opponent in the regular season.
If you want to know everything Gabriel Milito said in the press conference after the victory against Pachuca, we'll tell you here.
"The game was very important for us, we played with great mentality and a lot of judgment. We created many chances from the first minute, we knew we had to be solid in defense because of how dangerous Pachuca's players are."
"We competed well from start to finish, in the last few minutes we were obviously going to be further back because of the sending off and we had to show character to hold on to the result."
"The team has been playing at a good level and in a consistent manner. The Clásico Tapatío was also very well played. Today we got a slightly tighter result, but we also played very well."
"We mentally prepared ourselves to come here and win, with a lot of respect for Pachuca and a lot of belief in the work we've done. We came here ready to get the win, and we were able to do it."
"I celebrate 'Hormiga's' goal. He is going through a very strong period. The team also helps him with their level of play. He had missed a few chances, but he has a great mentality to keep going and go for the next action, which helped him score the goal."
"Armando González has a great mentality, he believes in himself a lot and that's essential for any player. He had a great game without the ball, in pressing and in his runs."
"Beyond not playing as much for various reasons, Javier Hernández is an impeccable professional and an important person within the group. He can teach Armando González things that I cannot."
"Any coach who accepts a challenge has the hope that things will turn out well. We analyzed the team a lot before coming. Chivas has a great squad; we just needed to work hard and shape what we wanted to play."
"At the beginning of the tournament, the results were not favorable, but over time we have consolidated some very important things. We are very clear about how to attack and how to defend, and that comes with time and hard work."
"We have one game left against a great rival. We want to do well and secure direct qualification."
"Rayados has a great coach. I know him from when I played for Barcelona. They have fantastic players, and to beat them, we have to play a complete, almost perfect game. It will be a tough test, but we hope to rise to the occasion."
