Both teams scored in an all action first-half between clubs in the lower half of the standings. Michael Gregoritsch scored Augsburg’s equalizer after a controversial decision handed St. Pauli the lead.

Ricky-Jade Jones had the game’s first chance before Alexis Claude-Maurice and Gregoritsch nearly put the hosts in front. However, St. Pauli were ahead when Sascha Stegemann pointed to the penalty spot as Marius Wolf was penalized in his first start of 2026.

From 12 yards, Daniel Sinani scored his first goal since netting in the first two home games of St. Pauli. Manuel Baum saw a yellow card for protesting the referee’s decision, but he saw his team get back in the game ten minutes later.

Gregoritsch scored his first goal since returning to Augsburg with a fine header from Claiude-Maurice’s corner-kick delivery. Sinani came close to restoring St. Pauli’s lead early in the second half, but it was the Austrian international who succeeded in grabbing his brace.

Once again, Claude-Maurice was the chief creator as the January signing produced a difficult finish to put Augsburg in front for the first time.

With Nigerian youngster Uchenna Ogundu on his way to joining Augsburg from Alanyaspor, it's a great day for the Bavarians as they won back-to-back games for the first time this season.
