Grêmio have agreed to loan forward Alexander Aravena to Portland Timbers in the United States until December, with an option to buy, according to Globo.com.
The Chilean has featured only four times this year and started just once, a defeat to São José at the Arena in the first phase of the Gauchão.
He becomes the 19th player to leave following December's change of management. The new board set out to reshape the squad and cut numbers.
Grêmio now have 30 first-team players, while Luís Castro aims to work with 27, alongside six youngsters promoted at the start of the year.
Aravena remains under contract with Grêmio until December 2028. He joined in July 2024 from Universidad Católica.
He will be the second Grêmio player loaned to Portland Timbers, after Carballo moved there last year and was injured in his second game.
