The defender showed after-effects of the virus that affected several team-mates during the week, missed the final training session and was not cleared. Young left-back Pedrinho, recently promoted from the academy, comes in.

Marlon joins Arthur and Gustavo Martins on the sidelines, and they should only return after the March FIFA window, in early April.

He should be available for the next Brasileirão round against Vitória.

Chapecoense face Grêmio on Monday at 20:00 at Arena Condá in the sixth round of the Brasileirão. Grêmio drew with Bragantino and are 10th with seven points.

Squad: Goalkeepers Gabriel Grando, Thiago Beltrame and Weverton. Full-backs Caio Paulista, Marcos Rocha and Pedro Gabriel. Centre-backs Balbuena, Kannemann, Viery and Wagner Leonardo. Defensive midfielders Dodi, Leonel Pérez, Nardoni, Noriega and Tiaguinho. Midfielders Monsalve and Willian. Forwards Amuzu, André Henrique, Carlos Vinícius, Enamorado, Gabriel Mec, Tetê and Pavon.
