Grêmio miss out on US$ 600,000 after Copa Sudamericana exit

Grêmio’s Copa Sudamericana run ended on Thursday night, costing the club the last 16 payout.
They lost 3-2 in Bolivia, then were beaten 1-0 by Bolívar at the Arena. According to Globo.com, the campaign to this point has brought in R$ 6 million, about US$ 1.175 million, across the previous two stages.
That total covers the group-stage fee, win bonuses in the group and the play-off round payment.
Conmebol pays US$ 300,000 for the group stage, US$ 125,000 per win, US$ 500,000 for the play-offs and US$ 600,000 for the last 16.
Those figures equate to roughly R$ 1.5 million, R$ 640,000, R$ 2.5 million and R$ 3.1 million respectively.
