Grêmio sign right-back Diego Caito on loan, permanent deal mapped out | OneFootball

Grêmio have announced the signing of right-back Diego Caito on loan until the end of the year. He is eligible to make his debut against Fluminense on Sunday at the Arena.

The Goiás defender arrived in Porto Alegre last Friday. He was registered in the CBF's BID this Friday, leaving him available to Luís Castro.

Grêmio have purchased 30% of his economic rights for R$ three million. The agreement sets out a permanent acquisition if the club pay a further R$ two million by December for another 20%.

The package is R$ five million in total. Paying the full amount would secure the player beyond the loan, with Goiás retaining the remaining 50% of his rights.

Diego Caito is 22 and made his professional debut for Goiás in 2023. This season he has 28 appearances, two goals and three assists.
