Grêmio to open women’s training centre with Grohe and Galatto partnership | OneFootball

From September, Grêmio will base the Mosqueteiras at a new training centre in Gravataí, in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre, in partnership with RGM Academy. The complex is run by former Grêmio goalkeepers Grohe and Galatto, ex team-mates and title winners.

According to Globo.com, the plan emerged after the club’s new hierarchy took office in January and identified the need to expand facilities for the women’s department. During the search for a venue, the goalkeeper duo approached the board with a proposal, and a six-year lease, with an option to extend, was agreed.

RGM will fund infrastructure upgrades, while the club will invest about R$ 600,000 in new equipment and furniture, taking total spending above R$ 1 million with earlier outlay this year. Construction is expected to be completed by September.

The site includes two synthetic pitches, a sand court and a natural-grass field currently being planted, all with dugouts and facilities for filming and media.

There will be full changing facilities, an auditorium, two gyms, and rooms for nutrition, social assistance, physiotherapy and psychology. Eight dormitories will house female academy players.

Born from the partnership between Galatto and Marcelo Grohe, the RGM Academy also offers specialist goalkeeper training and a football school for children aged four to 17.
