Corinthians have included 16-year-old goalkeeper Gustavo Milani in their travelling squad to face Cruzeiro in the Brasileiro on Wednesday, his first senior call-up.
According to Meu Timao, he replaces Felipe Longo, who felt elbow discomfort and stayed in São Paulo. Hugo Souza is the starter, with Kauê also available to coach Dorival Júnior.
A leading academy prospect, Milani began at Parque São Jorge in futsal with the Sub-12, moving to the pitch in 2024 with the Sub-15. He soon earned regular Brazil youth call-ups from May 2024 and impressed at the Copa 2 de Julho before stepping up to the Sub-17.
He trained with the senior group in January under Ramón Díaz. Under Raphael Laruccia last year he played 28 games and conceded 31 at the higher age group, and he received his first Brazil Sub-17 call mid-year.
He saved penalties against Fluminense and Red Bull Bragantino in the Brasileiro Sub-17, preventing two defeats.
In July he signed his first professional deal with Corinthians, valid until 30 June 2028. He was listed for the 2026 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, did not play, then began the Brasileiro Sub-20 with a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over América-MG.
He is not expected to make his senior debut against Cruzeiro. Kick-off is 20:00 at the Mineirão in the fourth round of the Brasileiro.
