It follows a third prolific season in succession for the mercurial striker since his move to Manchester City in the summer of 2022 – with the 25-year-old scoring 34 goals and registering five assists in all competitions in 2024/25.

Haaland began the term in scintillating fashion by netting seven in his first three league appearances which included back-to-back hat-tricks in respective wins over Ipswich then West Ham.

He then went on to plunder a total of 22 Premier League goals last term which was the third highest amount, although among the top five marksmen, his penalty contributions to that tally was the joint fewest.

As the Norwegian has already shown throughout his time at the Club so far, he once again turned up when the Blues needed him most when scoring in crucial victories against Spurs and Fulham towards the season’s end as we booked our place in the Champions League for the 15th season in a row.

His form then continued into the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America when he scored three goals in four appearances as Pep Guardiola’s side reached the knockout phase of the competition.

The 2025 Ballon d'Or ceremony will be held on Monday 22 September at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France where the winner will be crowned.

Rodri is the current holder - the first City player to win the trophy - following an outstanding 2024 where he helped us win a record fourth Premier League title before winning the European Championships with Spain.
