Erling Haaland is the cover star of the latest edition of TIME magazine.

The Norwegian striker enters an exclusive club of celebrities, politicians and global figures to take centre stage on the front of the fortnightly publication, regarded by many as an authoritative chronicle of the present day.

Wearing our 2025/26 PUMA Home kit, Haaland features in a pose with his hands behind his head beneath the heading ‘Goal Orientated’ in reference to our man’s extraordinary record in front of goal.

Inside its pages, Haaland is profiled as a ‘superstar striker who looks like Thor but celebrates goals by meditating’.

What follows is an interview, conducted partially in Manchester and finalised in Boca Raton during the FIFA Club World Cup, that spans Haaland’s life in great detail.

From his roots in Bryne, to his professional journey to City and what the future holds for him as one of the world’s outstanding footballers, the feature outlines who our No.9 really is.

With the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA earlier this summer and the international edition to follow next year, US interest in football and its prominent figures has rarely been higher.

Haaland scored three times in four appearances at this summer’s tournament and will now be seeking qualification with Norway for next year.

Haaland is the second City player to appear on the front of TIME, after Mario Balotelli did so in November 2012.

The interview is available to read here while the issue itself will hit newsstands in print on Friday 8 August.

The cover will also be available to purchase here soon.
