According to Globo.com, Rayan has extended with Vasco until 2028, with a release clause rising to €80 million, around R$500 million, and a major pay rise.
The clause gives Vasco cover, and the club intend to entertain only offers that suit both finances and the player, while their cut of any future sale will vary with the fee.
The deal includes performance bonuses, including for a Brazil call-up, as he has been observed by Carlo Ancelotti. He is now among the squad’s highest earners.
Long-standing ties eased talks, with Admar Lopes and Pedrinho working with his representatives, and Felipe liaising with his father, Valkmar, a former team-mate in the late 90s.
Both sides plan to assess any bids together. Earlier this year his camp shunned a free exit when the deal ran only to end-2025, and he still aims to reach Europe’s major leagues.
In October he said he wants to establish himself in Europe before returning to Vasco.
His rise under Fernando Diniz defined 2025, and he finished Brasileirão as the season’s revelation. He is Diniz’s leading scorer with 17 goals, with Vegetti on 12. Vasco had already banked on his emergence, foregoing a back-up for Vegetti.
Rayan joined aged six, debuted in 2023 and is the youngest player of the 21st century to take the field. The renewal was announced with recreated childhood photos on the Barreira do Vasco with his parents.
