Although there was only a difference of four points in the final league standings between the first-placed FC Barcelona and second-placed Real Madrid, there is no doubt about which of these two teams was the better in La Liga.

The Blaugranes are not only the champions of Spain, but were also the more entertaining of the two teams. Furthermore, their competitive advantage was also clear from the fact that they beat the Merengues in both of their league El Clásicos, in addition to their encounters in the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup finals.

Four Barcelona players nominated for individual prizes

Owing to this dominant run in the league, the Catalans are expected to win most of the individual prizes that La Liga will hand out for the 2024-25 season.

In fact, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, up to five individuals associated with Barcelona have been nominated for different awards for this season.

Hansi Flick has been nominated for the Best Coach of the season, as he won the domestic league in his first season in Spain.

Among the players, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Pedri have all been nominated for the Best Player of the Season award. Two of these four players, Yamal and Pedri, have also been nominated for the Best U-23 Player award.

In total, La Liga will hand out awards for five categories. In addition to the Best Coach, Best Player, and Best U-23 Player awards, prizes will also be handed out for Best Goal and Best Save.

Although no Barcelona players have been named for these two latter categories, hopefully, Blaugrana players and coach will win all three awards for which they are nominated.
