Hansi Flick reveals Marcus Rashford’s response to being dropped to Barcelona bench | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has this week provided an insight into the classy response of Marcus Rashford to his recent drop in prominence in his squad.

Frontman Rashford of course played a leading role for Barcelona over the early months of the campaign, quickly emerging as one of the Blaugrana’s most important attacking stars.

This came owing largely to the injury problems being dealt with by Raphinha.

With the latter having since returned to full fitness, however, Rashford has found himself benched for a quartet of successive fixtures over recent weeks.

Speaking to the media in his latest pre-match press conference on Friday, Hansi Flick was therefore questioned on how the club’s loan signing has responded to his sudden drop in minutes.

And Barca’s headmaster went on to reveal that Rashford has reacted in the best manner possible, explaining:

“When I talk to the players, I explain to them why they didn’t play. When I tried to explain to Rashford why he didn’t start, he said to me: ‘No need to explain to me, the important thing is that the team wins and we get the three points. Anything else doesn’t matter.’ This is the right mentality. I am happy to have him with us.”
