There are a lot of things one can say about what Hansi Flick has built with the FC Barcelona team this season, but one thing that stands out to everyone is the sense of unity and a family spirit that he has fostered in the squad.

One excellent example of this is Ferran Torres. For most teams in Europe, he will be one of the first names on the team sheet, considering the incredible form he has shown this season. The Spaniard hardly gets a start here, but he never complains and makes the most of the minutes afforded to him.

Now, as per SPORT, Hansi Flick points to fringe Barcelona attacker Pau Victor as the perfect example of the type of players he wants in the squad. The youngster joined from Girona and had an excellent pre-season with the first team.

Victor has made almost every single squad list named by Hansi Flick this season, but has hardly been given minutes by the German coach. With players like Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres ahead of him in the pecking order, the €5m-rated ( Transfermarkt ) Spanish forward has been starved of opportunities.

However, as per the report, the German coach appreciates the fact that there has been no sulking from Pau Victor, who always gives his everything in training and has a smile, understanding his opportunity to train with such high-quality players at Barcelona.

Flick brought Pau Víctor on in the 88th minute of the 4-3 comeback win against Celta Vigo, with the score tied at 3-3. With the Pole set to miss a few weeks, the 23-year-old could now be in contention for more minutes in the coming matches.

It would have been very easy for a player in Pau’s position to sulk and not give his all when given minutes against Celta, but playing in his natural number nine position, the Spaniard proved to be a nuisance with his runs that gave space for Dani Olmo to pull all the strings.

Despite being the player with the third least minutes in the Barcelona squad this season, only ahead of Ansu Fati and Andreas Christensen, it has not deterred his desire to succeed, and one has to assume that Hansi Flick will give him the chances when the opportunity presents itself.

The next few weeks could turn out to be the break that Pau Victor has been waiting for all these months, and if he can showcase his quality in the minutes afforded to him, it would bode well for the team. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
