“Today’s game must be analysed thoroughly. We have to learn from it. We can’t play like this,” Robert Lewandowski said after Barcelona’s 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund last night and the veteran could not be more apt with his reaction.
The Catalans, after all, made a mess of the second leg despite entering it with a four-goal lead and gave the hosts hope of sparking a comeback when there really should have been no concern seeing the game off.
Several Barcelona players spoke harshly of the team’s performance after the game, as did the manager Hansi Flick.
As relayed by Mundo Deportivo, the coach is going to take massive steps to school the dressing room after the result.
As reported by the Spanish outlet, Flick had a stern talk with the dressing room after the first half at Signal Iduna Park.

The coach demanded more intensity, control, concentration and pressure from his men and warned them of the consequences of giving up possession easily. Yet, the performance did not significantly improve in the second period.
Now, he has planned a technical talk with the squad before the league clash against Celta Vigo and will go through all of the team’s errors with them to point out the areas where improvement is needed.
The objective will be to stress the importance of possession, the team’s style that they have exhibited throughout the season, flawless implementation of the high defensive line and the application of pressure immediately after losing the ball.
Barcelona’s poor performance last night can be attributed to fatigue and a sense of complacency given that the game was virtually won in Catalonia.
It is critical, however, that the team can switch back on as quickly as they switched off and turn up for the game against Celta at the weekend.
