Although one of FC Barcelona‘s greatest virtues is their attacking line, Hansi Flick wants to raise the level even higher and is sounding out the market looking for the best options to find a successor for Lewandowski and competition on the wings for Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. Given the economic situation, FC Barcelona is looking for the most cost-effective options and players whose contracts are coming to an end. Of course, it is well known that Barcelona have to let players out in order to bring in new ones.

In this sense of economic savings, one option stands out above the rest: Mohamed Salah. At the moment, Barça have not made any moves in relation to the Egyptian, what has happened is a logical debate about whether it would be wise to sign the footballer who would arrive free of charge, although he would have to sign a relatively long contract (three seasons) and would have a salary that would make him one of the highest paid players in the squad. What is most worrying about this operation is the age of the player and the fact that he is a winger and plays on the right wing in the same way as Lamine Yamal in top form and 15 years younger.

The statements made by a great friend of Mohamed Salah about the future of the Egyptian star have opened up the debate even more about his possible departure from Liverpool and his options of signing for a team like Barcelona. The person in question is Dejan Lovren, who was a great support for Salah when they both played for Liverpool. In statements to Ismael Mahmoud (@winwinallsports), he claims to see the player “more likely to leave than to stay because, with regard to the renewal, the club’s top brass do not respect him enough, they do not respect him for what he deserves”.

The defender explained to the aforementioned media outlet: “I want Mo Salah to stay at Liverpool, he wants to stay. I hope things change, because I wish him the best, but that’s how I see things”. Lovren added that “honestly, I don’t know the exact figures, but whatever Salah asks for, I think he deserves it. He does his job on the pitch. Don’t look at his age, some will say that in June he will be 33, but look at Cristiano Ronaldo, he is 40 and still playing, Salah continues to score goals, he is in excellent physical and mental condition. He is seven or eight years younger (than Cristiano), so what’s the problem?”

“Salah thinks there are things missing at the club, and I hope they are resolved soon. But the reality at the moment is that he is closer to leaving than to staying. More on the outside than on the inside.” Barça is keeping an eye on this option of being more on the outside than on the inside. A signing that would be very much to the liking of Hansi Flick and that would come at zero cost.
