Harry Kane scored a brace as Bayern Munich beat Chelsea 3-1 on Matchday 1 of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. England’s leading goalscorer has 10 goals in six games across all competitions for the Rekordmeister this season – his best start to a campaign.

Kane opened the scoring from the spot after being brought down in the area by Moisés Caicedo, slotting the ball past Robert Sanchez. The 32-year-old then doubled his tally after Malo Gusto was pressured into misplacing a pass, which was picked up by Kane who then curled one into the far corner.

Speaking after the game, Kane discussed his start to the season:

“Physically and mentally, this is the best I’ve ever felt. In this team, I know I’m going to get chances. I just have to keep taking them like I did tonight.” – Harry Kane. (via @iMiaSanMia)

Bayern travel to Pafos for their next Champions League game before hosting Club Brugge.
