The Athletic reports that Harry Kane is close to extending his Bayern Munich contract despite Barcelona making contact with his camp.
The England captain, who left Tottenham for Germany in 2023, is understood to want to stay in Bavaria, and Barcelona have been told he is happy in Munich.
The report adds that he could have activated a clause to leave this summer, but would have needed to notify Bayern by January, which he did not do.
During their enquiry, Barcelona sought clarity on Kane’s situation, but his entourage indicated his future would not be discussed before the World Cup concludes, by 19 July at the latest.
Since arriving at Bayern in summer 2023, Kane has played 147 matches, scored 146 goals and supplied 33 assists in all competitions, becoming the club’s seventh-highest scorer. He is currently at the World Cup with England, who are set to face DR Congo in the round of 32.
