Newcastle United set to face Wolves now the international break has ended..

Eddie Howe hoping to bank a first win of the season, their performances having deserved far more than the two points banked so far.

Harry Redknapp talking to BetVictor ahead of Newcastle United playing at home to Wolves:

“I’ll be very interested to see Newcastle moving forward.

“Isak’s gone and I’ll be honest, that always looked like the most likely outcome.

“They’ve invested a lot of that money though, so it’s up to the new lads to hit the ground running.

I’m worried about Wolves. They’ve lost some good players this summer and have replaced them with some unknown quantities.

“This should be a comfortable home win.

“One to watch – Woltemade has arrived for huge money and he looks like an interesting player. He’s an absolutely massive lad but he’s got silky feet, almost like a German Crouchie!

“Prediction: Newcastle 2 Wolves 0”

I agree with pretty much all of that from Harry Redknapp.

Hopefully he is proved correct with the ‘comfortable home win’ prediction.

Friday’s breaking news from Eddie Howe, Yoane Wissa will be missing after picking up a knee injury on international duty, his return date unknown. That for me will undoubtedly have changed Eddie Howe’s plans.

I reckon for sure he would have given the relatively inexperienced (only 32 career starts in a top tier league previously, in the Bundesliga) Nick Woltemade games off the bench initially, with Yoane Wissa starting through the middle. However, the Germany international will now go straight in against Wolves.

Eddie Howe also missing Jacob Ramsey for the next month and seven matches, as a minimum, whilst Anthony Gordon misses Wolves and Bournemouth through suspension, though can face Barcelona in midweek.

Everybody else available though according to the Head Coach, so lets get this win against Wolves  and really get the season kicked off.
