Leeds United have been linked with Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott as Daniel Farke urges ambition this summer following a 14th-place finish.
AS reports that Leeds have held talks with Valencia over a permanent deal for Largie Ramazani after his loan. Valencia are not rushing a decision, and Ramazani produced six goals and one assist in 27 La Liga appearances. Leeds are thought to be seeking around £10 million, which could provide welcome funds for reinvestment.
Leeds are eyeing Elliott, who is set to return to Anfield after an unsuccessful Aston Villa loan. He has been kept on the sidelines to avoid a mandatory buy clause being triggered. Leeds are monitoring his situation, with formal discussions expected soon, and face interest from RB Leipzig, Sunderland, Ipswich and Coventry City, while Liverpool are reported to want £26-30 million.
Before the final home game against Brighton, Farke said he is ambitious, prefers teams playing for something rather than simply avoiding danger, and does not want to maintain the status quo. He stressed he is at his best when convinced by a project.
Attacking midfield appears an area to address. Facundo Buonanotte did not make an impact on loan from Brighton and is expected to return, leaving Brenden Aaronson as the only recognised option. At 23, Elliott could be an upgrade and has already shown he can influence Premier League matches.
