Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has moved to lavish praise on a member of his attacking ranks, in the aftermath of the club’s latest outing.

The player in question? Vinícius Jr.

Wide-man Vinícius is of course fresh off a starring display on Saturday night.

Afforded a starting berth in Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Villarreal, the Brazilian lit up Spain’s capital by way of a Man of the Match performance.

Touch, dribbling, pace, creativity and a brace, Vinícius’ showing had it all.

And as alluded to above, one individual on whom the significance of such excellence was not at all lost is Xabi Alonso.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side’s 3-1 victory, Real Madrid’s headmaster explained:

“I loved Vini’s game tonight. Not just because of the goals. Because he was so active, so electric, he created a lot of issues for Villarreal RB, he was so, so good.”
