Hearts confirm major Shankland injury blow ahead of Celtic visit

In an update on Tuesday afternoon, Hearts confirmed the striker would be out for the next 6-8 weeks after picking up a hamstring strain.
Shankland will now join first team colleagues Cammy Devlin and Beni Baningime on the sidelines. The Australian international is injured while the Congolese midfielder is suspended.
Celtic require to add a number of players to the squad, with supporters anxious to ensure that the squad is bolstered for the weekend.

Celtic has an extensive injury list of our own with the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Alistair Johnston all sidelined long term. All three would walk into Martin O’Neill’s team if available.
Meanwhile the Scottish FA today confirmed that Steven McLean will be the referee at Tynecastle on Sunday for the visit of the Champions while John Beaton, who also has a hamstring injury to contend with, will be seated taken care of VAR duties.
