Héctor Reynoso was one of the club's biggest figures in the 2000s. As a leader of the Rojiblanca central defense, he wore the captain's armband, became a reference point on and off the field, and helped lift the title with Chivas in 2006.

He wore the number 4 shirt throughout his career with the Rebaño Sagrado, so today we revisit Héctor Reynoso's four most special moments with the team he loves.

1.Beginnings with Chivas

Trained in the Rojiblanca youth academy, Guadalajara's legendary "4" made his debut in the top flight during the 2001 Summer Tournament under Óscar Ruggeri. His first start came against Tigres on February 17 of that year, when Mexican soccer was introduced to the man who would become a fixture in the Rojiblanca defense and a club icon for more than a decade.

2.2006 Championship

Reynoso was part of the team that won the 11th star for the Rebaño Sagrado, starting at center back in both finals against Toluca in the 2006 Apertura. That night at the Nemesio Diez, he lifted the championship trophy with Guadalajara as one of the leaders of the Rojiblanco team.

3.Great Goal Against América

In El Clásico de México on Matchday 9 of the 2005 Clausura, Chivas and América played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. In that match, Héctor Reynoso scored the first goal for the Rebaño with a powerful shot from almost midfield, which was impossible for Memo Ochoa to save.

That goal was a vital moment for the Rebaño, who were losing 2-0 at the Azteca. From that moment on, the goals started to flow for Chiverío, and that goal went down as one of the best in the history of El Clásico de México, and one of the most memorable for the entire Rojiblanco Nation.

4.Copa Libertadores Against Boca Juniors

In the quarterfinals of the 2005 Copa Libertadores, Reynoso was key in Guadalajara's defense in the series against Boca Juniors. At the Jalisco Stadium, Guadalajara achieved a historic 4-0 victory, and in Buenos Aires, despite the hostile atmosphere, the defense remained solid and the team made it to the semifinals without conceding a goal from Los Bosteros, eliminating the Argentine team.

Thank you, Reynoso, for your dedication, leadership, and passion in every game. Today, the entire Chivas Nation wishes you a happy birthday!
