Heidenheim scored two goals in quick succession in the first half with Mathias Honsak and Marvin Pieringer both netting in the first fifteen minutes.
However, later on in the game RB Leipzig were allwoed to come back with their two top striker in Loïs Openda and Šeško who scored either side of half time.
This result left Heidenheim in 16th place, currently level on points with Bochum.
Leipzig, however, remain overwhelmed in their fight for Champions League football as they are sixth and below Mainz 05.
After the game, Heidenheim captain Patrick Mainka spoke to DAZN: “I am proud of each one of our team. It was only a few days after our painful European exit against Copenhagen and it was our first points of the Rückrunde.”
