Lauren Hemp says City’s desire to drive and improve standards is a pleasure to witness following our clinical 6-0 win over Leicester.
The England international was awarded the Player of the Match award during the Barclays Women’s Super League success after she registered two assists and was a continual thorn in the Foxes side.
Andrée Jeglertz’s side scored three times either side of half-time with a commitment to relentless attacking play until the final whistle which was helped by the contributions of second-half substitutes.
This saw Leila Ouahabi come on to make her 100th outing for the Club and Aoba Fujino round off the scoring with a well-taken effort on 66 minutes.
And Hemp says the environment created at City is a joy to be a part of.
“It’s so nice to see lots of different contributors coming on the pitch and making a difference,” she explained.
“That’s what’s so special about the team, it’s a competitive environment, but there’s a togetherness about this squad which is so special and it’s great to be a part of.

“It’s so nice to be in it right now and we’re in a good place and feeling confident. I’m looking forward to the FA Cup next week.”
By beating Leicester comprehensively at the Joie Stadium, it immediately extinguished the disappointment from losing to Arsenal in our previous outing.
The three points mean City enter the weekend 11 points clear at the division’s summit – albeit having played a game extra than second-place Manchester United.
And Hemp says the performance against the Foxes showed City’s ability to put the Arsenal loss behind us.
She added: “Obviously it was really disappointing last week with that loss against Arsenal. It was important we bounced back.
“This week, training has been so much fun, very competitive and there was a lot of confidence.
“I think tonight we scored pretty quickly as well, so there was no dropped shoulders and we were cracking on. Sort of carrying on from where we left off pre-Arsenal.”
