Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed Henrik Pedersen as their new manager, following the departure of Danny Röhl.

The Danish coach, who previously served as Röhl’s assistant, has been overseeing much of the club’s pre-season preparations and recently agreed a contract extension ahead of the new Championship campaign.

Pedersen joined the Owls in October 2023, having previously managed sides including Eintracht Braunschweig, Strømsgodset, and Vendsyssel FF.

Wednesday are set to kick off their league season away at Leicester City a week on Sunday. However, reports suggest that some players may consider refusing to play, due to continued problems with delayed wage payments.

Meanwhile, owner Dejphon Chansiri remains open to selling the club, though there has been no concrete movement on a takeover to date.
