Newcastle 1 Wolves 0 – Saturday 13 September 2025 3pm

The photo that Newcastle United fans had all really really wanted to see on Saturday!

OneFootball Videos

A match where United were the better team after the first couple of minutes when Nick Pope made two smart saves.

However, despite plenty of chances created, Newcastle United once again letting the opposition off the hook in front of goal.

That is, apart from the magical moment on 29 minutes.

Having failed to score himself from only five or so yards out, somehow hitting the keeper instead of the back of the net, Jacob Murphy redeemed himself with a splendid cross.

A cross that was met by an even better header, as Nick Woltemade got the vital winner.

Sandro Tonali so unlucky not to add a second before the break when the post kept it out and the ball rolled across the goal.

Wolves failed to have a shot on target after the break, pretty much zero threat, as Newcastle United banked their first victory of the season.

A winning snapshot post-match.

The all important winning photo =  The first of the season.

Also of course a first post-match dressing room group photo for Nick Woltemade, for the other new signings as well.

The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.

It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain other clubs and journalists.

‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League / Champions League… etc etc’

I absolutely love it.

At least 42 more games to go this season in all competitions, so hopefully a fair few more of these photos to come.
