Tottenham Hotspur will face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

Spurs will also face the same opponent in the Carabao Cup semi-final next month, but for the time being, Ange Postecoglou’s top priority will be to pick up all three points against the league leaders.

The north London will be in full confidence after their 4-3 win against Manchester United on Thursday, and Spurs will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce in all competitions.

Tottenham are still without their first-choice goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, but the Spurs boss has said that the 28-year-old is progressing really well.

Postecoglou told reporters: “It’s going well. Typical Vic. He’s pushing every boundary. He’s still a fair bit away, but whatever timeline it is he’ll make sure he’s back as soon as possible.

“He’s still very much around the group. You saw him last night. He’s at training every day. He’s one of the leaders, and he’s progressing well.”

Postecoglou also confirmed that young winger Mikey Moore still needs a couple of more weeks in training to get back to speed.

Meanwhile, Destiny Udogie, who missed the previous game, is now fully fit again and in contention to start against the Reds.

Tottenham keeping faith in Fraser Forster

Spurs could look to bolster their squad in January, but they are unlikely to sign a new goalkeeper unless Fraser Forster gets injured.

Forster made errors while playing from the back against Man Utd, but Postecoglou has made it clear that he won’t change his playing style.

The Spurs boss thinks that Forster could have made better decisions and admitted that he lacked a bit of belief in the second half.

Vicario played in Tottenham’s stunning 4-0 win over Manchester City, where he picked up an injury following a challenge from Savinho before half-time.

He had suffered a fracture to his right ankle and needed surgery. It is not clear when he will return, but at least it is encouraging to see that the goalkeeper is recovering quickly.

This is a big weekend for Forster. Liverpool have some fantastic forwards, and the veteran goalkeeper needs to be on top of his game.

He cannot afford to make silly mistakes against a top side like Liverpool, and Postecoglou says he is confident that the player will be up for the challenge.
