Liverpool have welcomed a star back earlier than thought. He's back fit and ready to get to work.

Liverpool have some serious injuries to deal with at the moment. It was a season full of them, really, as even Alexander Isak fracturing his leg wasn't the worst of it.

The Swede, thankfully, wasn't out for that long and returned before the season ended. Hugo Ekitike, however, may be out until close to 2027 - if not into January.

Conor Bradley will almost certainly be out for that long. We'd be quite shocked to see him back before the New Year, in fact, such was the extent of his knee injury.

Giovanni Leoni is another missing. He badly injured his knee on debut and missed the entire season - hopefully, he can return and play a role in 2026/27.

And then there's an unusual one: Jeremy Jacquet. He officially completed his move to Liverpool on Wednesday and will be a Red for the foreseeable future.

But he also suffered an injury blow last season with a shoulder problem that ended his campaign prematurely. Not long after agreeing to join Liverpool, in fact.

That injury risked jeopardising Jacquet's pre-season, potentially forcing him to join up with his new squad quite late in the day. It now seems that this won't be the case, however, and that the French defender is already good to go.

That's according to Dominic King, who reports that Jacquet is over the shoulder problem and ready to play a full part in pre-season. This is a massive win for Liverpool, who need Jacquet to quickly adapt and replace Ibrahima Konate after his compatriot joined Real Madrid.
