Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has been comparing Chelsea’s Cole Palmer with Manchester City’s Phil Foden.
A lot of the talk now is ahead of the World Cup coming up in the summer, and which players will be going out with England under Thomas Tuchel, and who might miss out.
With Palmer’s fitness and still being out injured, he may well be getting concerned about having to miss out come the end of the season. But you know that Tuchel will be doing all he can to make sure he can take the Chelsea talisman with him. It will all depend now how well Palmer can stay fit and return, and when he eventually does come back from this recent injury.
Tuchel will have some big decisions to make with that England squad, and there will be some big names missing out. He can’t take everyone. There will be choices between big names, and perhaps Palmer and Phil Foden come into the thinking.

Speaking about the two on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand said: “I think again Palmer’s another one with like how smooth he is. The ability to turn again in those half spaces. I think he’d probably be the closest to Phil Foden in that sense. Getting on the half turn and being able to thread someone in.
“His passing over different ranges is better than Phil’s. I think he’s got more of a range from 30 yards to four or five yards. He’s got it on lock and he scores.”
Everyone has been raving about winger Estevao Willian this week, and I’ve just written up a report on Chelsea officials believing that he will become one of the best players in the top 10 in world football within three seasons!
Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti was also absolutely raving about Estevao earlier this week after he scored a goal for Brazil on international duty. Of course, Acnelotti is managing Estevao for the national team right now.
