Hilarious American comedian Shane Gillis in “Celtic rules” comment | OneFootball

Outstanding American comedian Shane Gillis has joined the Celtic fan club after name checking the Scottish Champions during a podcast appearance. Gillis, who co-created and stars in Netflix show ‘Tires’, appeared on the Fragrant podcast when Glasgow’s fierce rivalry came up, prompting Gillis to say “Celtic rules”.

One Celtic supporter picked up on the comment during the podcast appearance, which went out to nearly 2m YouTube subscribers…

Gillis, who has hosted SNL twice, has struck up a friendship with the band members of Kneecap, introducing American comedians and podcasters to the music of the Belfast trio. It could be that the Irish duo’s influence has taken its toll on Gillis; however, given that Gillis is the descendant of Irish Catholics, it is likely that he has a soft spot for Celtic anyway.

Gillis played in Glasgow’s Oran Mor on a tour in 2022 but has since gone from strength to strength, selling out UK legs of his tour at arenas like Co-Op Arena in Manchester. It remains to be seen whether Gillis will tour to Scotland in the near future but you wouldn’t be surprised to see him pop up at Celtic Park if he did, following the path of a number of famous faces from American entertainment to take in Celtic Park.
