The exact duration of the new contract has not been disclosed.

“Oli is our captain and an undisputed leader,” said Hoffenheim’s managing director for sport, Andreas Schicker.

“He’s delivered consistently strong performances in the Bundesliga for over a decade and is now our club’s record appearance holder. Oli is the ultimate professional, lives and breathes football, and leads both on and off the pitch.

"Entering a second decade together in professional football is rare and speaks volumes about the mutual respect and trust between us. We’re thrilled to continue our journey with him and to have planning certainty in such a key position.”

Baumann, who joined Hoffenheim from SC Freiburg in 2014, said:

“It’s no secret that this club has become very close to my heart over the years. I feel deeply valued by everyone at TSG and by the fans. The club - and the entire Rhein-Neckar region - have become home for my family and me. That’s why I consider it a privilege to have extended my contract here early for a second time.

“I’ve grown into a national team player here, finally made my debut for Germany, and played both Europa League and Champions League football with TSG. Yet I still feel like I have more to give. I believe in the new path we're taking and in our shared future - as long as we all pull in the same direction.”
