As Football Italia has been reporting since Monday, Rasmus Hojlund is now the top Napoli option, especially after Milan focused on Victor Boniface instead.
The Partenopei’s search for a centre-forward was inevitably changed by the news that Romelu Lukaku will be out of action for three to four months with a thigh injury.
That means more investment is required and, while there are other candidates too including Andrea Pinamonti of Sassuolo, we have been reporting for the last two days that Hojlund is at the top of that list.

Napoli negotiations with Manchester United and the player’s entourage are further intensifying after Milan turned their focus towards Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface instead.
They are hoping that the club and forward will accept a loan without an obligation to buy, but are working on the formula to get something that will suit everybody involved.
Unlike the Rossoneri, Napoli can also offer Champions League football this season to Hojlund, who has struggled since his €80m plus bonus move from Atalanta in August 2023.
