Alex Neil's side sit fifth in the Championship following their victory over the Addicks, and remain in good standing to land a play-off spot come the end of the season.

The Lions' demolition of Charlton began in the seventh minute via Kayne Ramsay's own goal, while a late flurry of goals from Caleb Taylor, Luke Cundle, and Aidomo Emakhu secured an emphatic win for The Den outfit.

Langstaff is yet to score since his strike against Bristol City last month, but the role he played in his side's convincing win over their rivals should boost the striker's confidence.

Millwall will be keen to take the momentum from their victory over Charlton into next weekend's clash with Sheffield United.

The Blades are also in a buoyant mood, having beaten automatic promotion contenders Ipswich Town 3-1 on Saturday, thanks to goals from Callum O'Hare, Andre Brooks, and former Leeds United ace Patrick Bamford, who was later sent off for picking up two yellow cards.

Meanwhile, following the Lions' triumph over Charlton, Langstaff posted on his Instagram story: "Doesn't get much better than that."

From a Millwall perspective, it probably doesn't - a 4-0 win over a local rival represented a real statement for Neil's side, who are continuing to underline their promotion credentials.

Millwall set for vital fixtures in Championship play-off bid

The Lions sit six points clear of seventh-place Bristol City, while they are also just six points behind the automatic promotion spots.

Millwall are significantly more likely to finish in the top six than the top two, while their upcoming run of fixtures could prove vital to their play-off credentials.

Neil's men end the month with a home clash against Sheffield United, who are still plotting a play-off push despite their lowly position.

February begins with a mouth-watering clash for Millwall, as they clash with top-six rivals Wrexham, who got back to winning ways with a dramatic 3-2 triumph over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The Lions then have key opportunities to earn wins over relegation strugglers Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth, before locking horns with Birmingham City and Preston North End.

The Den club's trip to Preston at the end of February appears to be a kinder fixture than it looked a few weeks ago, as the Lancashire outfit have dropped out of the top six, courtesy of four successive defeats across all competitions.

Alongside performing well in the Championship, Neil's side can strengthen their play-off bid by completing successful business in the transfer market.

With that in mind, Millwall are interested in Sheffield Wednesday hero Barry Bannan, who appears set to depart Hillsborough imminently.

The 36-year-old boasts the sort of experience that can help the Lions over the line and into the play-offs, while he has also notched three goals and three assists in the Championship this term.

Thanks to their significantly greater squad depth, Millwall will be able to manage the veteran's minutes more effectively than the Owls, which should get the best out of him.
