Marti Cifuentes reacts to Abdul Fatawu's 60-yard stunner in Leicester City's 3-1 win over Ipswich Town.
Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes wasn't entirely surprised with Abdul Fatawu's 65-yard screamer in his side's 3-1 victory over promotion-chasing Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Bobby Decordova-Reid opened the scoring with a stunning ranged effort, before his attacking colleague stole the show with a magical effort from inside his own half, which caught Town keeper Christian Walton off guard.
The Foxes went on to win the game 3-1 after Jordan Ayew added a third, and manager Cifuentes seemed rather unsurprised that Fatawu had scored from inside his own half in an interview with TWTD post match.
The Ghanian had previously tried a similar trick in a match against Swansea City, but failed to find the back of the net. However, his manager revealed that this was something he often tried in training, hence his lack of surprise at the strike.
Cifuentes described the goal as a "brilliant moment", as Leicester secured what was a massive three points to put themselves right back in the chase for the play-offs.

It's not been an easy start to the season for the former Premier League champions, and with worries about a points deduction in the near future, Cifuentes has certainly been feeling the pressure in recent weeks.
However, Saturday's display against Ipswich will have the Spaniard breathing a little easier, as his side secure what was a big three points over a promotion-chasing side, with Fatawu stealing the show with his 60-yard stunner.
Cifuentes spoke to TWTD after the match, and was asked for his thoughts on the stunning second goal, to which he responded: “The thing is, he tries it a lot in training, and he likes to look for those situations. I think he tried it against Swansea as well. He tried a similar one.
“He can try everywhere, I can tell you, 11 v 11 or all by himself, a lot of situations that he likes to try. That’s the kid that is inside him and I love it. I don’t want to take that away from him.
“It’s a brilliant goal. We know how important Abdul is for us, how good he can be when it comes to the attacking phase, but at the same time, he’s working really hard to grow in all phases of the game.
“It’s a pleasure to work with him because he pushes himself every day in training to be better. We enjoyed a very nice moment," the Leicester boss concluded.
It's fair to say Cifuentes may have had a hunch that Fatawu would score a goal of that nature based on his comments, and seeing that effort sail in probably wasn't a massive surprise.

One interesting point that Cifuentes made in his post-match interview with TWTD was that Fatawu often tries these long-range strikes in training, and we have already seen one in a game scenario against Swansea earlier in the season.
Now he has actually found the back of the net, teams may now proceed with a bit more caution when facing the 21-year-old, as they now know he can even be a massive goal threat from inside his own half.
It's an excellent trait to have in your locker, especially at such a young age, but Cifuentes will be keen for Fatawu to only use it at appropriate times, when opposition goalkeepers can be caught off guard.
The Ghanian is seemingly loving life at Leicester so far this season, and his wonder goal on Saturday will only further boost his confidence, as his side look to continue pushing higher up the table.
