Dejphon Chansiri is likely to get less than £25m for Sheffield Wednesday after they entered administration.
Sheffield Wednesday have entered administration as they look to finally end Dejphon Chansiri’s time in charge of the club.
The Owls have faced huge problems under the ownership of the Thai businessman, who has failed to pay the wages on time to players and staff on a regular basis in the past six months or so.
Therefore, fans have been desperate for a change at the top of the club, but, despite their protests, prospective buyers had not been able to agree a deal with Chansiri.

A key reason for that had been Chansiri’s valuation of the club, with recent reports claiming that he was seeking around £100m, which unsurprisingly put interested parties off.
However, the situation has obviously changed with the club now in administration, as they will now prioritise a buyer at the quickest opportunity, providing they meet the required checks.
And, in a fresh development, The Athletic journalist Matt Slater claimed Chansiri will ‘do very well to see 25 per cent of that (£100m figure) and is probably looking at far less’.
He adds that he is aware that potential buyers have been ‘waiting for this moment’, so it’s thought that any sale process will be relatively straightforward and quick.
With Wednesday now suffering a 12-point deduction due to entering administration, it means that relegation feels inevitable.
In the bigger picture, that doesn’t really matter, as the only concern for all connected to the club was getting new owners in place, and that is now on the cards.

So, there is a lot of optimism and positivity around the club right now, and the fans will no doubt return to the stadium in their numbers to back what is a young squad on the whole.
There will be more tough days on the horizon, and Wednesday are almost certain to be playing League One football next season.
Yet, with new ownership, they can look to a brighter future, and it will be interesting to see how many serious bidders emerge over the coming weeks and months.
