An insight into the financial demands laid out by Premier League heavyweights Manchester City for Real Madrid transfer target Rodri has come to the fore online.
This comes amid the assurance that the Sky Blues, despite his contract situation, will not allow the midfielder to depart on the cheap.
Rodri has of course seen his name cast back into the spotlight in his home country across the week to date. After being named Player of the Tournament at the 2026 World Cup, the 30-year-old has been identified by the aforementioned Real Madrid as the missing piece from the club’s engine room puzzle.
Rodri himself is already understood to have given the green light to a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Florentino Pérez and co, though, will now be forced to find an agreement with a Manchester City board who are still working to extend their Ballon d’Or winner’s contract terms beyond their expiration next summer.
And as alluded to above, upon these talks being kickstarted, Los Blancos will be made aware that a significant price-tag remains on Rodri’s head.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing journalist Sergio Valentín:
‘Rodri’s representatives believe City will demand €80 million from Real Madrid.’
