Two years on from his big move from Vicarage Road to the Amex Stadium, the Brazilian is going to be on the move once again. This time he is heading back into the London area, west London this time, to join Enzo Maresca's Blues.

After another strong season with the Seagulls where he registered a combined 16 goals and assists across the campaign - four more than in the previous campaign - there was plenty of demand for his signature.

Chelsea ended up winning the race for the 23-year-old, who only wanted to join them, as per The Athletic.

They reported that the Blues had agreed a deal worth in excess of £50 million for Pedro. He is set to sign a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge and will fly out to America to link up with his soon-to-be new teammates at the Club World Cup.

Newcastle United were very keen on signing Pedro. They were reported to have held talks with Brighton over a deal worth around £50 million for the forward by The Telegraph. This, however, was ultimately rejected.

Watford in line for millions after Joao Pedro, Chelsea deal struck

The 10-goal attacker is now set to net his former London home an extra £4 million or so, according to BBC reporter Geoff Doyle.

It has been reported by the BBC journalist that Watford, as part of the deal that saw Pedro move to the south coast two summers ago for £35 million, have a 20 per cent sell-on clause for any sale of the Brazilian of over the amount he was sold for.

While the figure that has been agreed between Brighton and Chelsea isn't exactly known, it can be estimated, based off The Athletic's story, that the figure doesn't exceed £60 million. That means the Seagulls are set to make at most a £24.9 million profit on him, and a minimum of £15 million.

Given The Athletic said that the figure that Chelsea are set to pay is in excess of £50 million, Brighton will make more than £15 million in profit, pushing the money that they then need to pass onto Watford closer to, or even above, the £4 million mark.

Watford FC will be pleased by Joao Pedro, Chelsea move - it could add to Paulo Pezzolano's transfer budget

That amount of money is nothing to be sniffed at. With the spending regulations that are in place today, any extra profit that clubs can get, which is what this boost will be for the Hornets, is a great boost.

A lot of the recent talk surrounding the club has been about players potentially leaving rather than additions being made to Paulo Pezzolano's squad.

Not all the money that Brighton will owe Watford will necessarily come up front. It may be paid in installments, but it should still provide a little extra help to the new boss as he looks to shape the squad to his preferences.
