Kylian Mbappé has had a challenging start to his time at Real Madrid after joining the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Despite the hype surrounding his arrival, a pundit suggests PSG might be taking some satisfaction in seeing the French star struggle.
So far, Mbappé has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 16 matches, but he’s yet to find consistent form. His first El Clásico was a tough outing, with Real Madrid suffering a 4-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 26. Just days later, they endured another setback, losing 3-1 to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid rebounded before the FIFA international break with a commanding 4-0 win over CA Osasuna. Vinicius Junior shone with a hat trick, and Jude Bellingham added a goal, but Mbappé struggled to leave his mark on the match.

Former PSG manager and player Luis Fernández spoke with Spanish media outlet El Chiringuito and noted that the French giants aren’t displeased with how their all-time leading goal scorer is performing with Real Madrid.
“For now, it’s difficult for him,” Fernández said (h/t Le10Sport). “One might have thought that with the quality he has, leaving PSG would allow him to go to Madrid with confidence, but at the moment, he doesn’t have it in him. He isn’t performing well enough to be truly effective. In France, he is being criticized.”
“Right now, he isn’t succeeding; he’s even failing. He’ll need to find the motivation to overcome all of this. Currently, at PSG, they’re happy that Mbappé isn’t succeeding. When he left, his relationship with the club wasn’t good anymore. I know him; he speaks Spanish very well, and I know he has a strong mentality to establish himself in La Liga.”
