Bayern Munich continued their fine start to 2025 on Wednesday as they hammered five goals past Hoffenheim. The Bavarian club had also won 1-0 away at Borussia Park in their first game of the new year. Bayern will look to make it three wins out of three games in 2025 when they host Wolfsburg on Saturday.
The record champions have been playing an attractive brand of football under Vincent Kompany. Even though the team at times looks inefficient in the final third, they remain one of the most relentless sides in and out of possession across Europe.
Along with playing good football, Bayern are consistently churning out wins. Kompany’s men are currently on a four-game winning streak in the Bundesliga. They have lost only one game in the Bundesliga this season, away at Mainz in December. Die Roten remain top of the league table with a lead of four points over defending champions Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Wolfsburg have been oscillating in the midtable this season. They are currently seventh in the points table. Wolfsburg visit Allianz on the back of a thumping 5-1 win against Borussia Monchengladbach in the midweek clash. They started the year with a narrow 1-0 win against Hoffenheim, mirroring Bayern’s results against same opposition.
In the away trip earlier this season, Bayern had to work hard for the win as Wolfsburg suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat. The visitors will make it difficult for Die Roten on Saturday, which makes for an intriguing watch for the neutrals in the Bundesliga.
Despite the recent form of Wolfsburg, Bayern are heavy favourites for Saturday’s clash. The Bavarian club is yet to lose a league game at Allianz Arena this season. It will take a spectacular performance from Wolfsburg to take all three points and shake up the Bundesliga title race.
