Pep Guardiola’s side hoping to move top of the Premier League
Manchester City can move top of the Premier League if they beat Burnley at Turf Moor this evening.
Pep Guardiola’s side is in imperious late-season form as they look to chase down Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, and they have trimmed their lead from 12 points to just three in recent weeks.
That pursuit was aided as goals from Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland saw them beat the Gunners last time out, halving their points deficit and denting their goal difference slightly.
Win tonight, then, and City will end the night level on points with Arsenal, setting up a frantic final five games of the season.
They must win by a margin of two or more to finish the night top of the table, though, as the Gunners hold a slim advantage on goal difference.
And Guardiola will be confident of getting the better of Scott Parker tonight. The Clarets last won a league match in February and sit second-bottom of the table, with their chances of survival in the top flight irredeemably slim.
Turf Moor is something of a happy hunting ground for City, too. They have only lost there once since 1974, losing 1-0 in the Premier League in 2015.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on Sky Sports. Coverage starts at 7pm BST on Sky Sports Main Event ahead of an 8pm kick-off.
