Red Devils looking to continue unbeaten streak in Champions League quest
Manchester United visit St James’ Park today to face Newcastle as they look to consolidate their plce in the top four.
Michael Carrick is unbeaten in his second spell as interim head coach, having replaced Ruben Amorim back in January after the Portuguese was sacked.
The former midfielder, who grew up four miles outside of Newcastle, returns to Tyneside as a manager, seeking to continue United’s winning run after two straight victories over Everton and Crystal Palace.
The Red Devils leapfrogged Asston Villa into third in the table with the win over the weekend, as Villa stuttered at Molineux.
Unai Emery’s side were beaten 2-0 by Wolves in the Black Country, and they could be in danger of dropping out of the Champions League places with Liverpool and Chelsea hot on their tails.
Newcastle, meanwhile, sit 13th in the Premier League after a poor run of form that has seen them win just once in their last seven games.
They were dealt an injury blow ahead of this fixture too, with Nick Woltemade coming down with illness, Eddie Howe confirmed on Tuesday.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports 1, with coverage starting at 7pm GMT ahead of a 7.30pm kick-off.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Discovery+ app and website.
