Howe hopeful Newcastle star could return against Man City – but duo ruled out | OneFootball

Sven Botman could return to the Newcastle squad when they take on Manchester City on Saturday – but Yoane Wissa and Lewis Miley are set to miss out again.

Botman missed the win over Qarabag in midweek but Howe is hopeful of having him back this weekend.

“Better news on Sven, he could be in and around this game,” Howe said.

But striker Yoane Wissa has not yet recovered from his knock.

“No, I don’t think he will be, but I don’t think he’ll be too far off for maybe the Qarabag game,” Howe said when asked if he will be available this weekend.

“It was in training, a nasty knock, but I think he’ll be fine.”

Miley is also continuing to work his way back from a leg injury.

“It was a dead leg, that was factually correct, but I think it disturbed a bit of the muscle,” Howe explained.

“Again, I don’t think he’s too far away. Nothing more than a week, a couple of weeks maximum. But we’ve been told we’ve got to be careful with him.”

Newcastle also remain without Bruno Guimaraes and Tino Livramento.
