Huracán are interested in centre-back Alan Saldivia, and Vasco are open to negotiating his exit in the current window, but plan to bolster their defence before any move.

According to Globo.com, the board view recruiting another centre-back as a priority for the rest of the season, with coach Pedro Emanuel currently using Robert Renan, Carlos Cuesta, Lucas Freitas and Saldivia.

The target profile is a right-footed defender with stronger aerial presence, a trait seen as lacking in the squad, which could further limit the Uruguayan's minutes.

Saldivia was signed at the start of this year at Fernando Diniz's request, after he had admired the defender during Libertadores meetings between Fluminense and Colo-Colo.

After weeks of talks, Vasco bought 55% of his economic rights for US$ 1.5 million, with US$ 1.2 million fixed and US$ 300,000 tied to appearance targets. The deal includes an option to acquire a further 15% for US$ 350,000.

Since arriving at São Januário, Saldivia has not nailed down a place. He alternated starts with Carlos Cuesta during the Colombian's dip in form, also produced inconsistent displays, then lost ground again. He has recovered from a calf injury and is back in training.
