Fabian Hurzeler criticised Arsenal’s approach to the game after beating his Brighton side 1-0 at the Amex.
Bukayo Saka scored the only goal to give Arsenal a huge win in the title race with Manchester City.
But Hurzeler has called on the Premier League and referees to do more to stop Arsenal time wasting, and claimed “only one team tried to play football”.
“In the end we lost so we are disappointed regardless of the performance,” he said.
“But I loved the effort from my boys. I loved how they played football. I think there was only one team who tried to play football today and therefore I’m proud of how they did it.”
Hurzeler had spoke of his frustration with Arsenal taking too long at corner kicks ahead of the game and asked if he was annoyed with time wasting during the match, he replied: “Did you see in a Premier League game, a goalkeeper going down three times?
“I don’t think we should waste too much words about that tonight. I think we should focus on us and our performance.
“We can’t control these kinds of things. The Premier League has to find a rule and it’s not my business.
“I made my point before the game and I stick to it.
“There’s different kinds of winning. If they win the Premier League, no one will ask how they win the Premier League. I think you can feel they want to do everything they can to win this game.
“In the end it’s about the rules. If the Premier League and the referee allow everything then it’s difficult.
“At the moment I have the feeling they are doing their own rules no matter how they are playing.
“Overall, like I said, I will never be that kind of manager who tries to win in that way. I want to develop players, I want my players to keep improving, and keep playing football on the pitch.
“In the end, every team will manage and waste time but I think there has to be a limit and the limit has to be set by the Premier League and set by the referees. At the moment they just do what they want.
“If I asked everyone here in the room did they really enjoy this football game I’m sure maybe one raises their arm because they are a big Arsenal fan but besides that, no chance.”
